WHY RACE?

There’s no better way to unlock your potential than to sign up for an endurance race.

Whether you're running for the first time or you're an experienced IRONMAN, there's something to be said about setting a fitness goal, training towards that goal, and pushing your limits to reach it. When you cross the finish line and prove to yourself you can overcome challenges and reach new thresholds, both physically and mentally, you quickly realize the potential you hold goes a lot deeper.

Whether in the workplace or when forming healthier habits and relationships, you begin to see the spillover effects that racing, and physical movement in general, has as you discover your untapped potential.

This isn’t just my and others' experience. Researchers have studied these effects and have found the connection too.

WHO'S PARTICIPATING?

In the world of endurance sports, there’s a lot of underrepresentation of certain groups of people. That means there are a lot of people who aren’t reaping the benefits that are listed above.

Who’s currently participating? Let's take a look.

  • People who make between $100,000 and $149,000 a year (which is about $30,000 more than the current median in the US)

  • People between 45-49 years old

  • Males (71% of triathletes)

  • Whites/Caucasians (84% of triathletes)

WHY NOT MORE?

Why aren’t we seeing more representation?

There are a number of reasons and definitely not a one-size-fits-all answer. That being said, financial barriers and accessibility concerns are two of the major ones.

At TriThrift, we want to help reduce these barriers as much as possible so they no longer are the reason people don't tri. Click below to see how we do it.
